Satellite Security Information

TypingMaster Satellite is able to monitor and save the words that you type. These words are then used to create personalized exercises and they can also be seen in the statistics section of the program.

If you need to type confidential information of any kind -- passwords, personal email and web addresses etc. -- there are some security issues you should take into account.

High Security

TypingMaster Satellite itself does not fulfill high security requirements. However, high security can be obtained using appropriate Windows NT security settings. Make sure that:

No-one else has access to your Windows user profile and knows your password
Only you have read/write privileges to the Satellite application folder
You always lock your workstation when not at your computer

Security Tips

High Security Mode
By choosing High Security Mode during the first Satellite launch, the Satellite will not save any words and only monitors applications that you manually select.
Confidential Applications
If you type confidential information in one or more applications, you can prevent Satellite from monitoring them from the Satellite Settings dialog.
Confidential Documents
If you need to type a document that contains confidential information, you can temporarily disable Satellite from the Satellite Menu.
Confidential Words
If any confidential words are visible in the list of difficult words in the statistics section, you can hide them permanently with the Hide Word command.
Uninstallation
After uninstalling the Satellite, be sure to delete the entire contents of the Satellite installation folder to remove all personal information.
