I just got Typing Master Online for my school this year (3 year subscription). Since I started teaching computer two years ago we just used free websites for students to practice proper keyboarding skills. I hoping this website will help students be more consistent. It seems that every website is different. A student might type 40 words per minute on one website and then struggle on Typing Master. I am guessing that the other website was strictly gross not net speed.
I am using Teaching Master Online for third through eighth grade. After researching other schools goals I came up with the following net speed goal: 3rd grade - 12wpm, 4th grade - 15wpm, 5th grade - 18wpm, 6th grade - 21wpm, 7th grade - 24wpm, and 8th grade - 27wpm. Does the goals listed sound reasonable or should I change it?
Please help!!!

Hi,
Your goals seem very reasonable and it might be a good idea to let them study using these goals during a couple of lessons and see how they're doing. If it seems that they need to complete exercises many times before passing you can change the goals for the next lessons.
After your students have completed the first 2 lessons have a look at Users & Results page. Our Result Forecast feature shows how your students will most likely succeed in their studies based on the results.
You could also organize a typing test for your students before starting touch typing lessons to have some kind of understanding of their current skills and determine the goals based on their results information.
