Update: HTML5 Courses Are Almost Here

September 29, 2016

We know that many of you are excited about the new HTML5 courses and eagerly waiting for the release. We are a little bit behind of the schedule and we apologize for that. Rest assured that we haven’t forgotten our promise to release the new courses. The development has taken a little longer than we anticipated forcing us to postpone the release date. Take a look at the latest update regarding the HTML5 courses:

Typing Quest For Desktop Browsers

HTML5 course content is almost ready and with some additional tweaking they’ll run smoothly on desktops. Our goal is to release the Beta courses in November the latest. At the same time we’ll be upgrading our server to a more powerful one to accommodate growing number of users. The new server will also run HTML5 better than our current server.

Typing Quest For Tablets

The courses are mainly functional on tablets but there’s still some additional work concerning rendering of graphics. Overall perfomance needs a bit more optimizing as well to ensure the best possible study experience for kids. We will do our best to release Beta courses in late October or early November. At that time the courses will not save results. Once we have determined that the courses are ready, they’ll be moved inside Typing Quest as part of the service. This should be done by the end of the year.

Typing Quest Lab Is Being Built

We have exciting news to everyone waiting for our new materials! We will be releasing three new games for 6-7-year-olds. The games help kids to get familiar with the keyboard without having to know how to type. You’ll be able to test the games in our lab in November! Here’s a little sneak peek at the upcoming games:

There’s a lot of excitement in the air! We can’t wait for you to see and try the new materials – we only hope for a bit more patience from everyone!
