How can I store text formatting or images together with a phrase?

At the present time, QuickPhrase only stores the pure text without any formatting. We consider to add this option to a future version. However, you can still use e.g. HTML tags to format your texts.

Why doesn't my macro work?

Please make sure to have the paste method set to 'key-by-key'. Test your macro with Notepad first to make sure there is no compatibility problems with another software.

Phrases are sometimes not pasted correctly

Reduce the type repeat rate settings and slightly increase the repeat delay in the MS Windows control panel
Change the paste method in the QuickPhrase configuration to "key-by-key" for phrases which causes problems. Further information can be found in the manual
Try to disable the Clipboard backup feature from Clipboard Settings

Why my keyboard shortcut doesn't work?

Try to avoid using hotkeys which may be taken by other programs already. Combinations of CTRL-ALT and a letter are known to be taken less often. There are many Win-key shortcuts reserved by operating system itself.
Close any other application and test the hotkey in Notepad to find out whether any other application may 'grab' the hotkey and prevent QuickPhrase to recognize the input
Make sure that corresponding hotkey options are enabled in the QuickPhrase settings

Why does the installation fail?

The installation file may be corrupted. Please clean your cache and download again
Make sure that your temporary files folders are empty (e.g. /tmp or /temp)

I cannot see the QuickPhrase icon in the taskbar?!

Windows XP : Right-Click on Start, Properties, take Tab Taskbar , disable the option Hide inactive taskbar symbols to make sure that Windows does not hide the QuickPhrase taskbar icon

Windows Vista : Right-Click on Windows Clock, choose Customize Notification icons, disable the option Hide inactive icon for QuickPhrase.

How to move all/part of my phrases to another computer?

Start your QuickPhrase and go to Phrases tab. From there, right click the QuickPhrase folder icon and choose to Export Folder. All your phrases are now saved to a chosen file. Next, start QuickPhrase Pro version in another computer, go to Phrases and right click QuickPhrase folder. Choose to Import Folder and you will get back your existing phrases.

What are limits of bundled QuickPhrase in TypingMaster Pro Premium?

When you install TypingMaster Pro you can choose to install also QuickPhrase feature. This is a limited license of QuickPhrase that allows to use QP within same computer with TypingMaster Pro. You cannot install this bundled copy to USB drive or network drive, it must remain on your local computer.

Why my 3rd party Clipboard tool does not work anymore?

When you install QuickPhrase by default it does not forward clipboard notifications to 3rd party programs. This is due some bugs in 3rd party programs that may cause QuickPhrase to fail. However, if you need this forwarding you can enable it from QuickPhrase/Settings/Clipboard settings.

How do I set QuickPhrase up to use it in a network environment?

All phrases and folders can be shared to other users by choosing Share this folder.

You can store shared folder to any network drive and point others to it. This can be done within the Folder Settings of QuickPhrase:

You may want in addition to set access rights with the Windows file access permission control.

I want to reinstall my v3 software but could not find the serial n/o

With your eSellerate purchase you have received the personal serial number. Please enter this serial number again into QuickPhrase v3 demo version and its fully activated. How to enter v3 serial number into version 4 ?

There is no free update from version 2/3 to version 4. QuickPhrase version 4 does not accept version 3 serial number. You may need to purchase version 4.
