Not come very far, but still can go faster

Hello,
I have completed your course about 1 month ago.( I cannot tell the exact date as my profile got lost in a system format.)
My maximum clocked speed is around 29 wpm in a facebook typing test and I know I can do better.
The problem I am facing is that I am not able to shift my gaze from what I am typing. (For example, If I am doing a typing test, I have to look to what I am typing rather than what is written there. This results in needing to look at the text again and again and so results in a hilly graph, max around 60 and min 10 or so. What do I do to get a plane graph at say ~40 wpm?
I know that it is immediately possible with some rectification; and if I am overspeeding, do tell me.
I was a complete newbie at the beginning, doing hunt and peck at around 10 or so wpm.
Errors have also significantly reduced as compared to just completion of the course.

Hi there,
You have already progressed a lot since you have started. We don't have a winning formula on how to become a 40WPM typist who can type without looking at a keyboard. That skill will develop over time and you just need to be patient. If it's any help you can cover your keyboard so that you don't see the keys. That might also help you to not look at what you type.
You can check out

Thanks for the reply but that is not the problem.
The problem is this:
I want to type text (a). But in doing so I have to look at (b) and (a) alternatively (as I am copying the text). I want to type without looking at (b), meaning what I am typing rather than what is written, that is (a), on which I want to keep maximum focus. Is this ever possible?

Hi,
It's possible, you can cover (b) by eg. taping a paper on your screen over the text you're typing. That way you are forced to only read (a) and type without looking what you are actually typing.

All right, thank you.
