This is a great program and i have progressed myself through this. Thanks you!

Its to good to learn typing quickly and its used to improve the speed and knowledge. and once again thank you for providing typing master to us.

You have a great product here. Thank you for allowing us to use it. My cousin is learning how to use the keyboard the right
way for the first time at age 51. I put it on 3 of the computers here at home so she can ready access. She doesn't use
this one, my personal computer, I downloaded on this one so I learn how it works to better help her with learning the
software. Thank you so much for such a great product.

I just can thank you however there is not any option in Iran for paying to you for your great program. Thanks for your
program I used it and it was great.

So nice and user-friendly program.

I have recommended it to several friends who want to learn to touch type. It is a really good program.

Very good software used it all through high school

thanks for this program, it helped me and now i can type 30 wpm better

thank you for the use of this software. It helped me with my typing skills.

Its a very good software to learn typing.

Thanks. Very helpful in brushing up my skill to get a new job!

Great software. Very effective in building typing skills.

this is really a very useful software program most specially to those applicants like me. it helps me really in improving
my typing skills.

What a remarkable, and efficient way to teach typing. My typing lessons, years ago, were from a book, that was it, and a
teacher with a timer. Love the ease of your way, of course the computer helps. Keep up the GOOD work.

I appreciated the typing tutor and felt like it was effective. Thank you.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that I downloaded the trial version of TypingMaster Pro because I had to quickly amp up my
typing skills for a typing test. Initially I had failed it -- twice had gotten 44 wpm. I reviewed a few days with your software and, voila, success! I needed 50 wpm min. for a position for which I was applying and I got 57 wpm! Thanks so much!

Thank you all for building up such a great software. Now I can type at an average speed of 75wpm. Again thanks a lot.

This unique software works great & looks great & is great. You'll be amazed when you try this program. When I used i
started typing faster than ever and couldn't stop. So fell free to download this sample program and you'll be amazed.

Hi, I just wanted to thank you for making the typing tutor software. It is really helpful because it works towards your
needs than the average person. It's a great product. Thanks again!

I used this to improve my typing speed after a year away from work. It helped greatly. I did find a big difference between
laptop (that I was using at home) and PC i.e.any keyboard that I should be working with. This helped, as a laptop (in my
opinion) is not as easy to type quickly on.

I think that your program is great that is why I am buying it for all my other computers.

Very nice software! I was using the demo version and I have already improved my touch typing skills considerably! Well
done!

I heartly thank to the Typing Master team because I never thought that my typing speed may reach up to 40 to 45 word per minute but I could not only do it but I did it only within 1 to 2 months. It was my dream to reach up to this level. But now I am confident that I can increase my speed up to 60 word per minute. The steps for practice in this software are really well.

Thank you for your useful and helpful software, I really enjoyed it.

Excellent software for getting to type fast. Extremely professional. Well-done!!!

typing master is one the best software i ever experienced. It can be useful to those people who want to learn typing. Its
cost effective and easy to learn. My warm regards to developers. thank you for designing such a great software....god bless.

This software is very good for fresh typing person or improve typing speed. for example me my typing speed is around 40 to 50 but using this software my typing speed is 65 to 70 up. Really best software

Thanks, my typing improved from 16 wpm to 56 wpm.

I really liked the program better than any other, it helped me achieve the 60 wpm I needed to pass my typing class.

Thank you for this wonderful guide of typing and making easy for typing

Hi Barb,

Please see the ERRORS.LOG file from TypingMaster/database folder for possible error messages; it seems that there may be network connection drop issue? Please also double check that your Windows seat licenses are not running low from Event Log.

We recommend to take full ZIP File Backups of all user data regularly using the tool available in TypingMaster Manager / File menu. This will help recover user data if you run into database problems.

Hi. We are using Typing Master Pro v. 7.01 [2009], network version. Each fall I import users accounts using a .csv file, and we usually type away with no problems.

We are up to 1,016 users. In the past week, the application has begun restarting my users in my Keyboarding Class. Either before they log in (or even while they're working), they are "kicked out". When they log back in, there is no record of their previous lesson/tests completed.

Can you please tell me what I can do? I need to view their accounts to grade them and verify that they are completing the work. I also need to keep using this application until June as I have 2 more keyboarding classes coming in. (Those users have existing accounts.)
I do periodically Rebuild User Index and also Export CSV Data to back up.
Thank you very much.

By default all TypingMaster study data is stored into C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\TypingMaster7

You can also choose to store all TypingMaster study data to another folder e.g. D: drive:

Please use Notepad or similar text editor to create a file TMNPATH.INI into
TypingMaster folder (make sure the filename is not .INI.TXT), containing
following data:

[Path]
Database=d:/typingmaster-data-folder
appdata=0

Its possible to make a simple scheduled backup task (.cmd file) that first stops TypingMaster server and then copies database files to a safe location and then restarts TypingMaster server again.

net stop TypingMasterServer3
xcopy "\Program Files\tmintra3\webapps\tmintra\appdata\*" x:\backup /S
net start TypingMasterServer3

Hello, there is no way to recover passwords from HASH; this is a security issue, the HASH is always a one way function.

To solve the situation, you have a few options available:

- Use TypingMaster Manager (USER SETTINGS) to reset each user password one by one

OR

- Turn off password login from TypingMaster Manager / Common Settings

OR

- Remove the password hash entry from each User file and TypingMaster will ask for a new password during user login

Various things have occured to the nwetwork forcing us to lose all the passwords associated with typing master. We have the hashes, but is there any way to recover the passwords from these? For example here is one... D4E8BA2D7E07B5

Hi Bob,

In the older TypingMaster versions, the finger reaches used for the number row were adjusted so that they worked both on standard keyboards and split keyboards. However, we received a lot of feedback from our users preferring the traditional finger reaches over this approach and decided to go back to using them in the later version.

Traditional reaches:
a1 s2 d3 f4 f5 -- j6 j7 k8 l9 ;0

Adjusted reaches (split keyboards; used in TypingMaster 6)
a1 a2 s3 d4 f5 f6 -- j7 j8 k9 l0

On a split computer it is not possible to type 6 with right index (j) as it is placed on the left hand section. Assigning both 1 and 2 to the left little finger was used to take strain off the left index finger which would otherwise need to reach three keys: 4, 5 and 6. Using the right index also for key 8, takes away some strain from the right little finger.

For program technical reasons, we currently cannot support both. If you have already learned the number row with the adjusted reaches, you may want to stick to them. In practice, it really does not matter which finger you use.

I personally use the adjusted reaches even on a standard keyboard as this is how I've trained my fingers to do it.

If you've not yet learned and gained confidence either way, I suggest training with TypingMaster and going with the traditional reaches that it now uses. If you have already learned the "old version way" and would like them to be used in your TypingMaster installation, let us know and we'll send you workaround instructions (you'd need to edit the keyboard layout file in TypingMaster).

Hi,

I love TypingMaster and just upgraded to version 7. I noticed that the finger positions for the number key (not keypad) are different in Version 7 than earlier versions. I was wondering why the change? Are both supported? Which is preferred and why?

Just wondering.

Hi,

Of course it is up to you whether you choose to continue with your habit or stick to general finger positioning. You will probably type letter sequences faster the way you are doing it now but where does it actually come handy? Most likely you will be typing words more often than letter sequences mentioned earlier. Naturally we find it better to learn touch typing and use touch typing finger positioning also when typing letter sequences.

Hi,
thanks for intorducing me the course, but i am already using the typing master program and this program as well does not suggest, change the figner positioning based on sequence of letters.

my question still remains, should i leave my habit or carry on with my own habbit (ie finger positioning based on sequence of letters)?

with thanks
kian

Hi,
i initially tired to learn to type withou a guide.
i put my fingers on the keyboard depending on the sequence of the letters im going to type. eg( if im going to type 'de' i put my 2nd finger on d and 3rd finger on e so that i can type faster).
later when i search the internet, i found no source telling to put my fingers this way. they all specify a finger for each letter.
i dond know if it helps me type faster or is a bad habbit that leads to confusion.
do you think i should leave this habbit?
regards
kian

Hi akash,

We have currently no plans of creating a shorthand typing tutor. Please have a look at this link to study stenography:

Hello,

I purchased Typing Master, and really appreciate the tool. I really progress, using it.
However, there are quite a lot of spelling mistakes in the words (at least in the french part !)
Also, in the help file or the screen (less critical from my standpoint)
Is there a way to fix them, and to send them back to the support ?

Best regards,

Franck
