2011 Update Out Now

TypingMaster Online 2011 Update has now been released! We happily present you the improved typing tutor with a few new features.

Is your typing forecast sunny or does it look cloudy? We proudly introduce Course Result Forecast that helps teachers identify early the students who may need additional support to complete the course.

Another great feature is a printable Typing Certificate, available after a completed course or typing test. We have also expanded our games section with a brand new typing game, KeyTower.

New Features

	Course Result Forecast This exciting new feature shows the predicted final result of a student, based on a thorough analysis of over 30,000 TypingMaster study records. With just a few lessons completed, the teacher can see the projected speed and accuracy scores for the final test and spot the students who need extra practice. You can read more here.

	Typing Certificate Just in time for the end of semester, teachers can now print out a certificate for their students. The certificate is available after a student has finished the touch typing course or a typing test. There are three different templates to choose from.

	New Typing Game We have added a new typing game, KeyTower. Type letters to release blocks and build a tower. The higher your tower is the more difficult the game gets. All games can at your option be locked until the next lesson has been completed.

Updating does not require any action from you - the new features are added automatically to your TypingMaster Online account.

Course Result Forecast

TypingMaster Online 2011 update features a brand new Course Result Forecast tool. This tool helps teachers to spot students who are likely to have difficulties to meet the final test limits.

The first step is to set up pass limits for the final test. When a student has completed two or more lessons the prediction will be shown as weather forecast symbols on the Users & Results page on both Study summary and Course results report. If the pass limits have not been set, Course Result Forecast uses the default settings to predict the score. Default settings can be changed and switched off if needed on Settings page.

How the prediction is calculated?

Teacher will be able to view the projected score and symbols in TypingMaster Online Manager. Course Result Forecast shows altogether six different weather forecast symbols illustrating the prediction. From stormy clouds and thunder to a bright and smiley sun, these symbols will give a quick summary about the students' possible results. Hovering a cursor on top of a weather symbol will open a pop-up window showing more information (see picture).

The prediction is based on an analysis of over 30,000 TypingMaster study records. It is impossible to predict an exact score and the prediction should be considered as a guideline. The prediction does not show an exact speed and accuracy but the estimated limits the student's score is likely to fall between. Final test pass limits are also visible in the prediction window to give the teacher a chance to evaluate if the pass limit is the correct one for the group. When changing the final pass limits on Course page the prediction symbols will also update automatically to reflect the new pass limits. Course Result Forecast is available only in Basic Touch Typing Course and Junior Touch Typing Course.
